About 8,500 Greeks have participated in this strategy and management competition, created 35 years ago in Portugal by Expresso and SDG.
An innovative training program in management is how Theofilos Kontozis, Global Management Challenge organizer in Greece, defines this Portuguese competition.
The challenge arrived on Greek shores ten years ago, and has involved 8,500 people, who saw this initiative as an opportunity to develop skills. “We launched the challenge in Greece in response to a growing need from the younger generation for an alternative modern learning experience, complementary to university, and in preparation for professional life”, said Theofilos Kontozis.  He goes on to say that this challenge brings universities and business closer together enabling organizations to develop skills in their human resources.

So far, acceptance for this initiative in Greece has been good. According to the local organization, about 1,900 teams from 67 universities have already taken part in this event. For the business community, about 75 companies and organizations have supported teams, and at least 25 of these taken on young participants into their businesses.

For Theofilos Kontozis, the Global Management Challenge proved to be a valuable experience for young people. Company managers and some people have even taken part in this challenge more than once, which each year provides different learning experiences and allows participants to test their knowledge and become managers of excellence.
