It is from Lisbon that the International Final of the Global Management Challenge 2019 will be monitored at the end of this month. This edition will be taking place online. The pandemic forced a change in the competition calendar, and only now have the right conditions been met to move forward with this event.
“Due to all the restrictions imposed by the pandemic in the last 18 months, it has not been possible to hold in-person events, including the International Final of the 2019 edition of the Global Management Challenge. The Final, which should have been held in April 2020 in Lisbon, was initially postponed and later cancelled. “We have now decided to hold the event entirely online”, explains João Matoso Henriques, CEO of SDG.
The semi-final will run from the 19th to the 23rd of July. The eight winning teams from that phase will dispute the Final on the 27th of July.
For João Matoso Henriques “the International Final is the culmination of each edition of the Global Management Challenge and represents a big party where all countries take their best team to compete for the world title. For us, the cycle of each edition only ends after this important stage, and we didn’t want to hold an edition of the GMC without having a world champion for the first time”.
