Competition Highlighted in Russia

Dmitry Medvedev, prime minister of The Russian Federation, was present at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, held in February in Siberia. It is the second largest international event in the field of economics that takes place in Russia. This member of the Government gave some words of encouragement to the Global Management Challenge during the plenary session of the Forum. Here is a transcript of part of his speech:

«I found it interesting to learn that the participants in the forum are discussing the Global Management Challenge as the championship for strategic and business management. Models are used to create a representation of the market within which all the teams compete. The depth of managerial decisions is assessed by a computer and the complexity of interactions require detailed examination to fully comprehend. I was told that last year’s national championship was attended by 20,000 people from tens of regions. This initiative enjoys the backing of VEB and ASI. The winner – a team representing a group of Samotlor companies – went to the world championship and defeated very strong teams from dozens of countries. It’s a real pleasure».

In this event the chairman of VEB gave a special award to the Russian team that won the international final of the Global Management Challenge 2011, held in April 2012 in Kiev, capital of Ukraine.
